Macular Risk PGx- DNA Testing
Macular Risk PGx is a combined prognostic and pharmacogenetic DNA test intended for patients who have a diagnosis of early or intermediate Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) In combination with a clinical examination, this simple cheek swab test can be used to identify:
1) A patients risk of progression to advanced AMD with vision loss within 2,5, and 10 years.
2) The appropriate eye vitamin therapy for a patient based on their combined genotype at CFH and ARMS2.
Coupled with heightened professional care, Macular Risk PGx allows us to stratify at-risk patients for appropriate monitoring.
The Macular Risk PGx test is reimbursed by most medical health insurers for patients with a diagnosis of AMD.
